Please vote against H. R. 1913. Firstly, we have no need for further legislation regarding violent crime. Laws are already in place to handle violent crime. Secondly, this law would only cost the taxpayers more money in prosecution of court cases while giving higher value and sentencing to specific violent crimes which is prejudicial in and of itself. And lastly, the 14th Amendment to the Constitution provides for equal protection under the law. This law gives absolute unequal protection for a very specific population.
